The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) has launched its awards program recognising the contribution made to the industry by the staff of superannuation funds – the annual Awards for Excellence.

For the first time this year, the AIST Awards will incorporate the organisation’s Communications Awards, previously announced at the Conference of Major Superannuation Funds, along with awards covering compliance, investment, operation, marketing and business development.

Commenting on the changes to the awards, AIST chief executive Fiona Reynolds said they would, for the first time, publicly recognise the pursuit of excellence and professionalism by the more than 1,500 superannuation fund staff throughout Australia.

Each of the awards carry with it a $5,000 scholarship to be used for professional development while the winner of the Team Award will receive a $5,000 scholarship to be used for a team building exercise. The winners of the Communications Award will be presented with individual plaques commemorating their achievements.
