ARIA makes key hire

By Mike Taylor

Big Commonwealth public service fund ARIA has recruited former Colonial First State Property and Alternative Investments expert Glenn Riley to handle its real assets portfolio.

ARIA chief investment officer Alison Tarditi said Riley would fill a key role, responsible for ARIA’s investments in real assets including property, which currently has a strategic asset allocation of 15 per cent.

ARIA is the overarching body for the major Commonwealth public service funds, including PSS/CSS, which are worth in the order of $18 billion.

Tarditi said Riley had extensive property, finance and funds management experience gained over 12 years working in a range of fund management roles at Westpac Banking Corporation Property Finance Group and, most recently, Colonial First State Property and Alternative Investments.
