Alliance Bernstein has picked up a $100 million mandate from VicSuper.
The fund manager announced this week that the mandate related to the Alliance Bernstein Emerging Consumer Strategy.
Announcing the mandate win, Alliance Bernstein portfolio manager, emerging consumer, Tassos Stassopoulos said the strategy allowed investors who were concerned about the short-to-medium-term outlook for emerging markets to explore ways to diversify their exposure.
"This approach offers diversification from traditional emerging-market equity strategies in two ways--by focusing on emerging-market consumers and by being benchmark-unaware," Stassopoulos said.
Confirming the mandate, VicSuper chief investment officer, Oscar Fabian said the Emerging Consumer strategy would diversify the fund's emerging-market equities exposure.
