The speaker line-up for the 2026 Australian Wealth Management Summit will be joined by Shane Oliver, head of macro strategy and chief economist at AMP. Oliver has over 40 years economics experience, having joined AMP back in 1984 and becoming its chief economist in 1994. He is now chief economist and head of macro strategy and regularly appears in the Australian media to share his thoughts on the economic landscape.
He has extensive experience analysing economic and investment cycles and what current positioning means for the return potential for different asset classes such as shares, bonds, property and infrastructure.
In his session, Shane will deliver an insightful session “Capital at a Crossroads”, examining the key forces shaping today’s investment environment. Delegates will gain valuable insights into navigating market uncertainty, understanding economic shifts, and identifying opportunities across a rapidly evolving investment landscape.
Oliver is also a regular guest on Money Management and Investor Daily’s Relative Return podcast where he updates listeners with his take on the weekly economic events.
“As financial professionals continue to navigate heightened market volatility and structural change, Shane’s perspectives will provide attendees with valuable context and actionable takeaways,” said Laura Dew, editor of Money Management, Investor Daily and Super Review.
“This is a session you won’t want to miss, offering a unique opportunity to hear directly from one of the industry’s most respected voices on the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the future of financial advice and investment management.”
Taking place at the Shangri-La Sydney on 13 August, the summit will bring together senior investment professionals, asset consultants, economists, and advisers to explore alternative investments, from private equity and real assets to private credit, infrastructure, and digital assets, which are playing an increasingly central role in institutional and wholesale strategies.
