GNGB – which manages the Superannuation Transaction Network – has launched a public dashboard showing the network’s real-time availability.
The STN is the mechanism by which employers send super contributions to employee super funds; how funds receive, reconcile and roll over member funds; is used by software and payroll providers to meet data and payments standards; and delivers super data to the Australian Taxation Office.
Chief executive Michelle Bower said that increasing visibility of the network was an important step, particularly with the advent of Payday Super.
Bower said the dashboard allowed for improved governance, surveillance and user experience of the STN.
“Ensuring readiness for increased transaction volumes has been a key focus for us for the past couple of years,” she said. “The dashboard improves our oversight and governance, and gives users the visibility they need to have confidence in the system.”
The dashboard has also been designed to help employers and other stakeholders troubleshoot more quickly and effectively. Users can quickly see whether any given transaction issue was related to network availability or not, information which would previously have had to be sought from GNGB, a Gateway or other intermediary.
The dashboard also lays the foundation for future analytics, establishing the technical and data framework for performance trend analysis, historical reporting, and degradation and recovery analyses.
