Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) is considering setting up a vehicle to provide the Australian wholesale market with access to its global long/short equity fund of hedge funds.

CSAM’s head of client services and marketing Dominic Fallins says there has been strong Australian interest in the fund of hedge funds managed by CSAM’s alternative investments group in New York. This group has been operating for eight years and uses 27 managers from the US, Europe and Japan.

CSAM recently brought Jennifer Moros, a senior member of the alternative investments group, to Australia to discuss the hedge fund of funds with Australian clients and asset consultants.
