AMP Capital has appointed Patrick Trears to the new role of director in the infrastructure debt team to accompany the launch of a second infrastructure debt fund.

Based in New York, Trears will be responsible for expanding deal flow for both infrastructure debt funds in North America.

Trears has 12 years experience in US and European markets, formerly working for WestLB where he was responsible for project and acquisition finance transactions in the Americas.

He also held structured and project finance positions at Hypo Real Estate, Citi Investment Bank and DEPFA Bank in Ireland.

AMP Capital global head of infrastructure debt Andrew Jones said it was an opportune time to launch the new fund as demand for infrastructure debt investments had increased and the current market environment was attractive with strong deal flows.
