AMP Capital has appointed David Rees as the co-head of the company's European infrastructure team.

Based in London, Rees will join Rob Verrion in overseeing AMP Capital's European infrastructure assets, along with the management of AMP Capital's flagship fund the Strategic Infrastructure Trust of Europe (SITE).

Rees has 25 years of experience working within infrastructure businesses.

Before joining AMP Capital, Rees held a number of senior finance roles at the international network energy company National Grid. He was director of finance and regulation at Transco, the UK gas transmission and distribution business.

Rees was also chairman of trustees and a member of the investment committee of National Grid's UK pension scheme.

AMP Capital head of infrastructure, Europe, Boe Pahari said Rees' experience would complement the team's "asset management capabilities".

"These assets are increasingly being sought by institutional investors looking for long-term stable yields with inflation linkage and the potential for capital growth," said Pahari.
