Local government veteran James (Jim) Montague has been appointed to the Local Government Super board.
Montague replaces John Beacroft, who is stepping down from after five years as director and former chair.
The new board member has held local government roles for 48 years, 31 of which was spent as general manager of the City of Canterbury.
Chair of Local Government Super Bruce Miller said: "We are pleased to welcome Jim Montague to the LGS Board. Jim brings to the Board an unrivalled track record of service in local government and I'm certain we will benefit from his extensive experience and his intimate knowledge of local government."
Montague began his placement last week.
