Local Government Super (LGS) has appointed Bruce Miller as chair of its board, while director, Martin O'Connell will step into the deputy chair position.

Miller is replacing John Beacroft who has finished his two year term and brings a long history of local government and financial management experience having been a Cowra Shire Council councillor for 22 years including 14 years as the mayor.

Existing director, O'Connell will replace Leo Kelly as deputy chair of the board, also in accordance with the fund's two-year rotation policy.

Beacroft and Kelly will remain on the board as directors.

Directors, Beverley Giegerl and Sam Byrne will depart the fund to be replaced by Michelle Blicavs and Keith Rhoades.

Blicavs has over ten years senior management experience in the service and not-for-profit sectors and is currently a councillor at Wollongong city council. She is also the finance and operations manager at the International Association for Public Participation Australasia.

Rhoades has served on the Coffs Harbour Council for more than two decades including eight years as mayor. He is currently the joint president of Local Government NSW and holds directorships with Local government Procurement and Statecover Mutual.
