LGS appoints third independent director
Local Government Super (LGS) has appointed Claudia Bels to its board as the third independent non-executive director.
Her addition was part of recent changes to broaden diversity and strengthen specific skills on the LGS board.
Bels had experience as a non-executive director and committee chair for CBHS Corporate Heath, Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform, Australian Settlements Limited, Australian Physiotherapy Council and the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
She had joined recently appointed independent chair Kyle Loades, independent director Sandi Orleow and new chief executive Phil Stockwell.
“Claudia brings to the board an impressive track record in law, finance and risk management as well as broad international commercial expertise,” Loades said.
“She also has extensive experience in strategic leadership across a range of diverse issues including corporate turnarounds, cultural change and engagement with regulators.”
