FIRST Super has appointed former principal at Evans and Peck, Bill Watson, as chief executive to take over from Graeme Russell in April.
Watson has worked in the industry for a number of years at a variety of specialist consultancy firms as well as holding positions with Statewide Financial Management Services in South Australia and managing large public transport institutions.
FIRST Super co-chairs Michael O'Connor and Allan Stewart said the appointment was the result of an exhaustive selection process with many interested candidates.
"Mr. Watson's extensive management and industry experience makes him a good fit for our fund and we are confident he will build on our excellent track record of delivering superior returns for our members," Stewart said.
Russell announced his departure last December in order to take on the chief executive role for Media Super early this year.
