Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Scott Bennett as head of quantitative research and client solutions for Australia and New Zealand in response to growing demand from regional institutional investors.

Bennett spent 14 years as director of equity strategy and research at Russell Investments, and has worked in a variety of roles across Australia and the United States.

Bennett would report to Bert Rebelo, head of Northern Trust Asset Management, who said the firm continued to see increased investor demand for quantitative investment strategies.

“As we continue to expand within the region, Scott’s extensive experience will play a vital role in developing solutions that help our clients achieve their objectives,” he said. “We’re delighted to have him join our growing and focused team in Australia.”
