UBS has appointed Paul Souter as head of strategy and distribution for Platform Solutions Group, its direct-to-member investment solution.
Souter was most recently product manager — investments at AustralianSuper, leading the development and implementation of its direct superannuation solution in November 2011.
In his new role, Souter will be responsible for developing the UBS offering by expanding its range of products and services and working closely with super fund clients, industry bodies and other key service providers.
He will be based in Melbourne and report directly to head of investment platform Ian Dunbar.
UBS launched its investment solution in partnership with FNZ at the end of the May last year as a means of stemming the growth of the self-managed super fund market.
The product gives members direct control over individual investments and real-time trading of ASX300 stocks, according to UBS.
