Rice Warner has expanded its superannuation consulting team with two new senior hires.

Former Pillar Administration chief operating officer Gary Cox brings over 25 years experience in the financial services industry, and particular expertise in administration and member services. Prior to his role at Pillar, Cox was director of member services at Russell Investments, head of super solutions at BT Financial Group and managing director of CitiStreet Australia.

Cox has been charged with developing Rice Warner's member service offerings including online calculators, member benefit projections and an online industry metrics tool that will allow super fund peer comparisons on a range of metrics, including member and employer movements, pensions, investments and insurance.

Former Deloitte Actuaries and Consultants director Michael Gomersall will also join the super consulting team specialising in outsourcing, particularly consulting and multi-employer funds.

Last year Rice Warner employed Steve Freeborn in response to growing demand for client services. Freeborn previously worked at Perpetual as state manager and senior manager of business acquisitions following his time at BT Financial Group as vice president of business development management.

His main responsibility will be to deliver investment services to the consultants' clients and enhance its dealer group offerings.
