Colonial First State Global Asset Management has hired Stephen Hayes to replace Andrew Nicholas as head of property securities after Nicholas resigned earlier in the year.
An integral part of CFSGAM's property securities history, Hayes established and developed the team while employed with the asset manager between 1999 and 2006.
Hayes has rejoined the team after a stint with another fund manager.
CFSGAM's chief investment officer David Dixon said Hayes' established investment process and long-term track performance would bode well at CFSGAM. He said Hayes would work to establish the business as a global leader in real estate securities.
CFSGAM favours a global approach and has people on the ground in Sydney, New York, London and Hong Kong, according to Dixon.
Hayes will begin in September.
