Major insurer TAL has appointed a new General Manager, Claims.
The insurer announced today that it had recruited internally to appoint Loraine van Eeden to the role.
van Eeden had been promoted form her previous position as General Manager, International Life Solutions.
The announcement said van Eeden would be responsible for overseeing claims management across all of TAL’s distribution channels.
Confirming the appointment today, TAL chief operating officer, Justin Delaney said it had followed an extensive internal and external search.
“Our claims experience is where we make the biggest contribution in the eyes of the people who matter most - our customers. We have every confidence that Loraine’s depth of experience and knowledge of TAL will ideally position her to support our continual improvement of the claims experience,” he said. “We are investing more in the claims experience than any other part of our business and we are pleased to have Loraine join us after a record year for TAL’s claims team.”
Before joining TAL, van Eeden was the Head of Swiss Re’s Life and Health Claims proposition, working at their London and Zurich offices.
van Eeden will take up the new Sydney-based role in January.
