Treasury Group has appointed Melda Donnelly to its board as an independent non-executive director.

Donnelly is the founder and former chair of the Centre for Investor Education, which provides consultancy to institutional investors and the financial services market in general.

She has also held various positions with ANZ, including managing director of ANZ Trustees and deputy managing director of ANZ Funds Management.

Donnelly has also been chief executive of Queensland Investment Corporation and chair of Plum Financial Services Nominees.

Treasury Group chair Mike Fitzpatrick said Donnelly would bring "vast knowledge of the Australian and international investment markets" to the company.

"Donnelly has worked with some of Australia's largest financial services businesses, with a focus on education and funds management," said Fitzpatrick.
