Vision Super independent director Joanne Dawson has been appointed to the board of real estate investment manager Centuria Capital.

In an ASX statement, Centuria said Dawson will join the firm as an independent non-executive director and chair the group’s audit, risk, and compliance committee.

She has sat on the board of Vision Super since July 2014 and is also chair of its investment committee. Until this month, she was also a non-executive director at Generation Life.

She also has experience in wealth management, spending 14 years as managing director of Executive Wealth Strategies and a year as chair of stockbroking and wealth management firm E.L & C Baillieu.

Her appointment followed the exit of Peter Done after 16 years.

Centuria chairman Garry Charny said: “After a comprehensive search, I am delighted to have Joanne join the board. Her extensive experience not only as a director but in audit, property, and financial services makes her a unique and welcome addition to the Centuria family.”

Centuria has $21 billion in assets under management across listed and unlisted real estate funds as well as tax-effective investment bonds.
