Software and processing solutions firm SunGard Australia has created a new role that focuses on the local superannuation and insurance industries.
To this end it has hired Grant Ives as its director of insurance solutions.
Ives believes the super and insurance industries will continue its growth and be central to the Australian financial industry.
"Yet there are many areas where technologies haven't kept pace with what's really needed to future-proof these firms and get their risk profiles right," he said.
He is looking to bridge the gap on some common vulnerability in the industry.
His most recent role was at OAMPS Insurance Brokers as its corporate branch manager.
Ives was previously at ING for 10 years in various roles, including regional manager, regional head of business development for Asia Pacific, and head of commerce for ING Insurance Central Europe.
He has also worked at AMP Financial Planning as head of segment, flexibility.
