The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has launched the first stage of Super Guru, a standalone website designed to enhance the financial literacy and superannuation knowledge of Australians.
The site was developed with the aid of the Victorian Government’s Collaborative Internet Innovation Fund to provide information on choice of funds, managing super, planning for retirement and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).
According to ASFA chief executive Pauline Vamos, Super Guru helps people “engage with their super more — either by asking questions of their funds, or of the people advising them with their self-managed fund”.
Super Guru was first incorporated into the ASFA website in 2005, but has now been transformed into a standalone site.
“This is an exciting next step in the development of this service. We felt there was a need to provide members of funds, those new to superannuation as well as those running their own SMSF or considering starting one, with key sources of independent information,” Vamos said.
The UK aims to boost investments via Australia’s super fund sector, unlocking major bilateral business and growth opportunities.
The Future Fund has received government approval to internally manage transactions in Australian infrastructure and property, marking a significant shift in its investment approach after nearly two decades of relying solely on external managers.
The super fund has welcomed Robert Potter and Wayne Davy to its board of directors.
Private market assets in super have surged, while private debt recorded the fastest growth among all investment types.
