AustralianSuper has indicated the importance of investing in infrastructure, with the appointment of Jason Peasley to the newly created role of head of infrastructure.
Peasley joins the fund from Artisan Investment Managers, an independent boutique adviser for infrastructure and operators, which he founded.
He has also previously worked at Hastings Fund Management and as director of infrastructure at Deutsche Bank.
Peasley will report to chief investment officer Mark Delaney, who said the appointment and overall investment in infrastructure were strategically and philosophically important to the fund.
“AustralianSuper currently has over $5 billion in infrastructure assets and we plan to grow investments in this area significantly over the next few years,” Delaney said.
“Not only does investment in quality infrastructure projects have the potential to provide excellent returns for our members, but it also delivers benefits to the wider community in Australia,” he added.
Peasley will start his role on 14 April.
