BNY Mellon Asset Management’s (BNY Mellon AM's) transition management specialist has appointed Keith Griffiths director of its Australian business.
Griffiths will be heading up Mellon Transition Management (MTM), with a focus on developing and growing the Australian and New Zealand businesses, reporting to Jamie Cashman, global head of sales for MTM.
Mark Keleher, MTM chief executive, said the appointment “reflects institutional investors’ increased demands for greater transparency and fiduciary care during transitions in the region”.
Griffiths joined BNY Mellon AM in 2005, formerly of Citigroup Asset Management. At BNY Mellon AM Griffiths developed investment solutions for institutional investors. He has worked in financial services for 25 years, with portfolio management experience managing fixed income portfolios in the wholesale sector at Westpac Investment Management and UBS Asset Management.
The appointment comes as BNY Mellon continues to expand its business, last month obtaining a licence from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority to establish banking branches in Australia. The move will allow the company to provide institutional investors with banking services.
