Specialist superannuation actuarial firm Buttler Walker will merge with major accounting group Deloitte.
One of the founders of Buttler Walker, Wayne Walker, confirmed the merger, which he said would be formally announced today (Thursday).
He said the merger would see the Melbourne-based Buttler Walker team move as a unit to be covered by the broad Deloitte umbrella.
The merger with Deloitte follows the geographical break-up of Rice Walker actuaries earlier this year, with a new firm, Rice Warner, emerging in Sydney while Buttler Walker emerged in Melbourne.
Walker said he believed the merger with Deloitte would drive better outcomes in terms of research and career paths.
