The super fund has strengthened its leadership with the appointment of Katrina McPhee as chief member officer to enhance retirement outcomes and service.
McPhee, who is set to join CareSuper on 1 December 2025, brings more than two decades of financial services experience, including senior roles in superannuation, financial planning, business development and strategy.
She most recently served as group executive of communication and advocacy, and chief of staff to the chief executive at Aware Super, where she played a central role in co-developing the fund’s enterprise retirement strategy.
CareSuper chief executive Jason Murray said McPhee’s appointment reinforced the fund’s commitment to members and strengthened its already high-performing leadership team.
“We’re really pleased to welcome Katrina to CareSuper’s dedicated leadership team in this key role. Her appointment further strengthens our commitment to delivering even greater retirement confidence for our members,” Murray said.
He added that CareSuper’s in-house model was a key differentiator, with its service team consistently ranked number one across superannuation and financial services.
“In May alone, 90 per cent of member calls were resolved on first contact, which speaks volumes about the quality of our service model,” Murray said.
Murray described McPhee as bringing “deep experience in leadership, transformation and strategy, and a strong track record of elevating member outcomes”.
He said her insights and energy would help CareSuper “continue to evolve our offering and deliver even more value to our members—both now and into retirement”.
For her part, McPhee said she was excited to join a fund known for its strong service culture and member satisfaction.
“I’m delighted to be joining CareSuper—a fund that truly puts its members at the heart of everything it does,” McPhee said. “CareSuper has built a strong reputation for member satisfaction and personalised service, and I’m excited to contribute to a team that consistently delivers above and beyond.”
She highlighted the advantages of CareSuper’s in-house administration and member services team.
“With an in-house member services and administration team, CareSuper has a unique foundation of care and capability with end-to-end control of our member experience. It’s a great platform from which to continue evolving our products and services to meet the needs of our members,” McPhee said.
Reflecting on her early career in financial planning, McPhee emphasised the importance of listening to members.
“My time in financial planning taught me the importance of listening to members and helping them shape their future with confidence. I’m proud to be joining a fund that combines strong long-term investment performance with a clear ambition to be a trusted leader in retirement outcomes.”
