A foundation has been formed in honour of the former chairperson of StatewideSuper, Joy Palmer, to fund research into environmental, social, governance (ESG) and sustainability issues.
The Joy Palmer Foundation will be launched at the 2010 Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia Conference in Adelaide. Palmer died in 2008 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Foundation trustee director John O'Flaherty said Palmer was a "keen supporter" of ESG issues and had a "particular passion" for sustainability.
"She was a well-known superannuation leader and was a key person in the early promotion of the use of these philosophies within super," he said.
