Former Challenger boss Bill Ireland’s emerging financial services group, Mariner Financial, has formed relationships with international investment bank Babcock & Brown and super fund service provider Industry Fund Services (IFS).
Babcock & Brown will help the group source, acquire and structure its finances while IFS will offer distribution through its link to over three million super fund members. Both will also take an equity stake in Mariner.
IFS executive chair Garry Weaven says: “Through our financial planning arm, IFS has used the Challenger products so we are interested in having continued access to these and to deliver through them at a discounted rate, net of sales commission.”
