BNY Mellon Asset Management has appointed former National Australia Bank (NAB) and Riskmetrics executive Andrew Phillips as its director of institutional business in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
The appointment was announced by BNY Mellon Asset Management managing director in Australia Bruce Murphy, who said Phillips would be focused on a growing group of institutional investors based in Melbourne.
“A Melbourne position is a significant move for BNY Mellon, and recognises the importance of local presence in one of Asia’s fastest-growing financial services centres that is home to a large portion of the Australian superannuation industry,” he said.
Phillips was most recently director of Asia-Pacific with Riskmetrics group in Singapore, after having worked for NAB, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and BT Funds Management with a focus on institutional business development.
