Teresa Parker will replace Gregg Behrens as chief executive of Northern Trust for the Asia-Pacific region.
Parker makes the move from Northern Trust’s London office, where she was most recently executive vice president and head of client servicing for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Parker’s background is well-suited to the group’s plans for growth in the Asia Pacific region, a statement from the group said.
Parker will be based in Singapore and will be responsible for all activity in the group’s offices in Melbourne, Bangalore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
Behrens will retire on November 30 after 35 years with Northern Trust.
