Australian employees rate a good superannuation plan and more flexible working arrangements as the top two benefits they look for in a job, a new Aon Consulting study of employee commitment has found.
The study, called Australia @Work, reveals that superannuation plans are viewed by employees as the most important benefit offered in a job, with more than half (51 per cent) of respondents rating it as “absolutely critical”.
The next most important benefits are a flexible work schedule, good workers’ compensation support and a disability plan to help employees in times of need.
Aon Consulting managing director Stewart Fotheringham says the findings indicate that Australian employers appear to be providing the types of benefits that employees rate as most important.
