Pengana Capital is expanding into Asia, opening an office in Singapore and appointing three investment professionals. Douglas Isles, Ashley Durante, and Vikas Kumra will be responsible for research and product development in the region.
“With our strong capital base and long-term focus, we believe we have strategically timed our entry in to this market. This is a significant move for Pengana. The Asian region is a key driver of global economic growth,” said the chief executive of Pengana, Russell Pillemer.
Pengana is the only Australian fund manager with a dedicated research base in Singapore, Pillemer said.
Isles was previously an investment analyst at Platinum Asset Management, covering global equities with a focus on industrials, and also worked for Aegon in the United Kingdom. He will lead the investment team in Singapore.
Durante, who will take on the role of fund manager, was a portfolio manager for Osmium Special Situation Funds. He spent three years at Carrousel Capital in London.
Kumra previously worked at ’sCredit Suisse HOLT division in Singapore conducting analysis on companies in the Asia Pacific.
