PIMCO has appointed Adam Bowe as senior vice president - fixed income portfolio management and trading - to its Sydney-based team, beginning 31 October.
Bowe will report to PIMCO Australia head of portfolio management, Rob Mead, and will cover government bonds, corporate bonds, swaps and options, and will be managing Australian dollar and global portfolios.
"Adam's skills and experience further extend the capabilities of our team, and his background across all facets of fixed interest - including research, trading and portfolio management - will add value to our growing client base," said Mead.
Head of PIMCO Australia, John Wilson, said the appointment follows an increase in demand for fixed interest solutions as an ageing population increases the amount of assets held by retirees.
Bowe has 10 years experience in fixed interest investment, most recently at Tudor Investment Corporation, focusing on global macroeconomic research and trading. Previously, he was a director, fixed income portfolio manager for six years at UBS Global Asset Management.
