Russell Investments has appointed Samantha Steele as a senior research analyst, concentrating on real estate and private equity manager research in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Steele will be based in Sydney, where she will work closely with director of Asia-Pacific real estate investment Martin Lamb.
Prior to joining Russell Steele worked as a fund manager for Lothbury Property Trust and a senior fund manager for European firm KBC Asset Management, where she specialised in indirect real estate.
She also worked in an asset management capacity at commercial real estate consultants CB Richard Ellis Investors and Insignia.
Lamb said the appointment would be of great value in addressing opportunities in the unlisted global property markets, which he believed might “be approaching the bottom of their valuation cycle”.
Steele will also work with Russell’s newly appointed director of alternatives consulting, Nicole Connolly, to enhance its alternative investment consulting capabilities in Australia and New Zealand.
