Sunsuper has announced its intention to expand outside its home state of Queensland with the appointment of Craig Godfrey to the new role of general manager, business growth.
Godfrey will lead a team of 16 to develop and implement a national sales strategy aiming to maximise Sunsuper’s relationships with its existing employer base of 72,000 as well as attract new employers and corporate clients.
He has more than 16 years financial services experience, including holding the position of executive manager with the premium banking division of CommSec, as well as state manager for Commonwealth Financial Planning. Godfrey has also been a financial adviser for AMP and Whittaker Macnaught.
Godfrey will report directly to chief executive Tony Lally, who said the appointment was key to the fund’s aim to target interstate clients.
Sunsuper has more than one million members and $18 billion in funds under administration.
