There has been no loss of momentum in the corporate superannuation outsourcing stakes, with Watson Wyatt announcing this week that it has been appointed by the big Westpac Staff Superannuation Fund to handle actuarial and consulting services.
The Westpac actuarial and consulting appointment is the third of its type announced by Watson Wyatt in recent months, with the company having earlier confirmed similar arrangements with the Woolworths and Smorgon Steel funds.
Watson Wyatt Director, Brad Jeffrey said the company was focused on providing independent consulting services to major superannuation funds and businesses.
“Our appointment reflects this focus, as well as the depth and experience of our team,” he said.
“Our independence means that we can ensure we are totally aligned with our clients’ needs, which has become increasing important as they successfully position themselves in a choice of funds environment,” Mr Jeffrey said.
