AMP Capital has taken an additional UK£27.3 million stake in Thames Water in the UK through its European infrastructure fund.
The purchase brings AMP Capital’s total holding in the investment to UK£144.3 million, after first acquiring a stake in 2006.
The increased stake in Thames Water aligns with AMP Capital’s strategy of holding quality large infrastructure assets that it can actively manage, according to AMP Capital head of infrastructure Europe Boe Pahari.
AMP Capital’s Strategic Infrastructure Trust of Europe currently holds seven investments in energy/utilities, transport and social infrastructure. AMP Capital’s total European funds under management currently stand at UK£563.2 million, the manager stated.
