
The multi-strategy team has over $12.2 billion in funds under management across five key strategies: enhanced index, value, active quant long, small cap and active quant long/short.
Pinnuck will report to AMP Capital head of multi-strategy funds Mark McClatchey, and his main duties will include stock selection, research and execution.
"Rob's appointment is testament to the depth of talent we have been able to attract to the multi-strategy team, and his experience will bolster the team's strength at the senior portfolio manager level," McClatchey said.
Quantitative investing is well established in Australia, and allows investors to apply techniques that are tested across a range of market conditions, McClatchey said.
Pinnuck has over 18 years industry experience, with a strong background in quantitative analysis and portfolio management. His most recent role was with State Street Global Advisors, where he was a senior portfolio manager.
