AMP Capital Investors has named Simon Ellis as chief operating officer, infrastructure for Europe, reporting to AMP Capital’s head of infrastructure for Europe, Boe Pahari.
Ellis will be responsible for operational matters including hedging, risk management, independent asset valuations, debt management and fund reporting, and will also work on origination and asset management activities, the group stated.
Ellis has more than 12 years of infrastructure market experience covering both primary bidding activity and secondary acquisitions across a range of assets including transport, social infrastructure and energy, AMP Capital stated.
Ellis also has risk and credit-related experience as chief investment officer for ING Infrastructure Funds in London, and was an executive director at WestLB in London leading underwriting activities in the infrastructure sector.
He was also director of project finance with Hypo-und Vereinsbank and from 1990 to 2002 was deputy director of project finance at Lloyds TSB Bank.
