Just weeks after the Federal Government bedded down the levies to be paid by the financial services industry to fund the major regulators, the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has said it is researching the actual costs and benefits of regulation.
In an announcement to member organisations, ASFA said it was researching the above and below the line costs and benefits of regulation, with the outcome being made public at ASFA’s annual conference in Perth later this year.
ASFA has claimed at least some responsibility for convincing the Government to continue transitional arrangements for superannuation fund levies for another 12 months, saying this had saved large funds over $50,000 on their levies.
