Bell Asset Management has added two senior analysts to its global equities team, while its Global Equities fund has been rated three stars by Standard & Poor’s Fund Services (S&P).
Nicole Mardell and Patrik Sjoblom each have more than 10 years of experience in European markets, Bell stated.
They each bring overseas company and industry specific expertise, and their sector specialties — consumer discretionary, consumer staples and industrials — are strongly represented in Bell’s portfolios, the manager stated.
S&P awarded Bell’s Global Equities fund three stars as part of its sector review of global large cap style neutral funds, along with funds managed by Fidelity, UBS and Colonial First State, Bell stated.
Bell was the only manager reviewed with an Australian-based investment team but S&P noted the manager was able to add value through consistent application of its investment philosophy and ability to exploit valuation opportunities as they arose, Bell stated.
The fund had outperformed its benchmark by 2 per cent per annum since 2003, according to Bell.
