International funds management company, Fidelity, has this week won the plaudits of the NSW Government after announcing that it will be establishing its Asia/Pacific Regional Services Centre in Sydney.
The NSW Minister for State Development, John Watkins, said establishment of the Fidelity facility in Sydney would result in the creation of around 100 financial services jobs by the end of next year.
Mr Watkins said the first phase of the expansion would involve finance and accounting positions, with further growth occurring over coming years as the company’s operations in the Asia Pacific continued to develop.
Fidelity’s chief financial officer Jonathan O’Brien said the company planned to recruit staff from Sydney’s skilled and talented multi-lingual workforce.
