Mercer has appointed former Access Capital Advisers partner and director Karen Chester as a partner and as a consulting specialist in its Alternatives Boutique from 28 February.
Prior to managing Access Capital’s $1.5 billion unlisted infrastructure portfolio Chester was chief executive of Access Economics.
Chester has also held senior roles within the Commonwealth Treasury and served as Dr Ken Henry’s senior executive deputy during the design and launch of the goods and services tax.
Graeme Mather, business leader for Mercer’s investment consulting business in Australia and New Zealand, said Chester has a wealth of investment and economic experience and is greatly respected in the industry.
“Her understanding of the needs of institutional investors and insights into unlisted infrastructure investments will be highly valued by our clients,” he said.
Mercer is continuing to look to build its specialist asset class teams, he added.
