MLC Investment Management has appointed global equities expert Jonathan Armitage from Schroders in the United Kingdom as portfolio manager, global equities.
Armitage has eighteen years experience in equities across several international markets and was most recently head of US Equities and a global portfolio manager as part of a team managing US$12 billion in assets, MLCIM stated.
Armitage will start on 1 August and report to MLC chief investment officer Nicky Richards, who said the appointment completes a wave of enhancements to MLC’s portfolio management team across the major asset classes.
“In the last couple of years we have implemented a number of changes to the management of our major asset class portfolios,” she said.
“We now have a team of leading asset class experts who, combined with Dr Susan Gosling managing asset allocation, represent one of the strongest line-ups in the Australian investment market.”
MLCIM would also be looking at making some enhancements to its investment products, particularly the manager of manager approach which is best for clients, Richards said.
