Long-serving Funds SA chair, Dr Helen Nugent will step down from her position early next month.

Funds SA announced Nugent's impending departure from the organisation late last week, noting that she had spent 15 years in the chairmanship — a period during which funds under management had increased five-fold to now stand at over $26 billion.

Commenting on Nugent's departure, South Australian Treasurer, Tom Koutsantonis thanked she had steered Funds SA to achieve fantastic results for its investors, including the State's public sector superannuation scheme.

The State Government will announce the appointment of a new Funds SA Chairman in the coming weeks.
