Northern Trust has appointed Leon Stavrou as head of its Australia and New Zealand business, and would start in the role on 1 October, 2021.
Stavrou would be responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction on providing solutions to Northern Trust’s corporate and institutional clients across the region.
Stavrou succeeded Angelo Calvitto who was appointed as head of Northern Trust Asia Pacific in June, and would report to Calvitto.
He had over 20 years of experience in the asset servicing industry was most recently a global services executive for Northern Trust’s asset servicing operations across Australia and the provision and development of the solutions to clients across Asia Pacific.
“Leon is a proven and trusted leader and we are pleased to appoint him to lead our business in the region,” Calvitto said.
“His experience working with sophisticated institutional clients with unique requirements will support us as we continue our business momentum and bring innovative solutions for our clients across Australia and New Zealand.”
