State Street Corporation has appointed Cara Brosnan as head of sector solutions for Australia and Southeast Asia, leading sales across all of State Street’s products and client sectors including asset managers, asset owners, insurance, official institutions and alternatives in Australia and Southeast Asia.
She had over 17 years of experience in sales and business development roles in the banking and financial services sector.
Brosnan had served as the regional head of insurance sector sales for HSBC Securities Services in Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, responsible for their custody and fund administration growth in the insurance sector in Asia.
Before that, she was their sales director in Australia and Europe responsible for developing and signing new business opportunities across global custody, investment administration, FX and securities lending for the investment management industry.
In the newly-created Sydney-based role she would report to Jason Rich, head of sector solutions, Asia-Pacific.
Rich said Brosnan’s extensive experience, product knowledge and network would enable them to meet their ever-increasing client demands in Australia and Southeast Asia.
“Australia remains the world’s fourth-largest pension market valued at US$1.9 trillion ($2.8 trillion), experiencing the highest growth rate of pension fund assets in the world,” Rich said.
“Add to this increasing interest from Southeast Asia pensions in global diversification, and we see tremendous opportunities in these regions.”
