Retail industry fund Rest has made three new leadership appoints to the workplace superannuation team.
Jessica Empson had been appointed as national manager – business solutions. In the newly-created role based in Melbourne, she would be responsible for leading the fund’s long-term new business growth aspirations.
Bart Healy had been appointed as northern regional manager and Jane Sheridan had been appointed southern regional manager.
They would both lead the relationship management teams responsible for large employers across the country from the Rest Sydney and Melbourne offices, respectively.
All three roles reported to Richard Millington, general manager – workplace superannuation, who led Rest’s growth and retention initiatives at the national level.
Deb Potts, Rest group executive – employer and industry engagement, said there was strong competition among super funds to grow their employer and member bases, particularly in the corporate sector.
“These leaders have the experience and expertise to drive this growth, as well as deepening the relationships we have within our employer base,” Potts said.
“Ensuring employers are updated with any changes to their superannuation obligations, and providing our members with information and education in the workplace are imperative to helping our members achieve their personal best retirement outcomes.”
Empson joined from industry fund AustralianSuper, where she was the business solutions manager.
She had more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including senior roles with Perpetual, BT, and Zurich Financial Services.
Healy was an internal promotion who had been with the organisation for two years and was previously Rest’s Queensland-based senior relationship manager.
Sheridan joined from hospitality industry fund Hostplus, where she was the Victorian state manager.
She had more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, including senior roles with Virgin Money and several boutique wealth management companies.
