The chief executive of Australia’s largest industry superannuation fund, REST‘s Neil Cochrane, has been named the ‘Fund Executive of the Year’ by the Fund Executives Association Limited (FEAL).
Cochrane’s award was announced at the FEAL annual dinner in Melbourne last night based on the five judging criteria of leadership, innovation, responding to challenges, strategy planning and overall industry contribution.
In making the award, the sales and marketing director of AMP Capital Investors, Brian Delaney said that Cochrane’s achievements over the past year had included ensuring that REST was the first fund to be licensed by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority under the new guidelines.
The chief executive of FEAL, Michael Baldwin said Cochrane had been active in raising of the profile of supeannuation among the wider community and in the media.
Cochrane will receive a $15,000 bursary to fund an education program.
