PublicSector and Commonwealth Superannuation Schemes (PSS/CSS) CEO Steve Gibbs was named the Fund Executives Association Limited’s (FEAL) Fund Executive of the Year for 2003.
In presenting the award, FEAL chairman Dennis Carroll said: “[Gibbs] has excelled in his role as fund executive, exhibiting outstanding leadership and strategic skills which has contributed not only to the success of PSS/CSS but also the industry.”
Gibbs responded: “I’m obviously absolutely ecstatic at being chosen. In life there are some things you really appreciate and being judged well by your peers is one of them — I’m extremely pleased and very humble.”
Among Gibbs’ achievements highlighted by FEAL was that PSS/CSS were the only Australian super funds invited to join the Global Institutional Governance Network. Gibbs was also a member of the International Corporate Governance Network and played an active role in developing the ASX Corporate Governance Guidelines.
