UBS Asset Management has appointed Liam McDermott as director for their Institutional Business Development team in Melbourne.

McDermott joined them after eight years as an institutional account manager at BlackRock in Australia and the UK.

He was responsible for managing relationships with superannuation, government and sovereign funds.

Bryce Doherty, head of UBS Asset Management for Australia and New Zealand, said McDermott’s appointment strengthens their institutional sales team.

"We felt it was important to increase our presence in Melbourne and adding someone with Liam’s experience to the team will ensure we continue to bring the best of UBS to Australian clients.”
